General Rental Information
The renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driving licence, ID card or passport and valid credit card.
Minimum age in Bulgaria is 18 years.The driver must have driving experience at least:
A Young Driver Surcharge of EUR 30.00 per rental applies for drivers under 21 years.
Conditions of Payment
Thrifty accept following credit cards: American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa.
We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron).
Cash Payment is accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card. Thrifty Bulgaria does not refund paid: Fares taxes, charges and Fees for other service. Pre-paid bookings are not refundable.
General Insurance Conditions
CDW and TPW limit renter`s liability to the amount of Non-Waivable Excess. This excess will aply in case of theft or damage.The amounts for responsibilities are as follows:
500.00 EUR - MCMR, MDMR , ECMR, EDMR, CDMR , IDMR
700.00 EUR - SDAR, SDMR, FDAR , FDMR , FVMR
Super waivers are available to remove non-waivable excess. In case the vehicle was damaged , there are losses or robery of the entire vehicle or part of it as result of renter`s neglifence , the renter is obliged to fully in indemnify the lessor.
The price of super waivers is :
8.00 EUR/day MCMR, MDMR, ECMR, EDMR, CDMR, IDMR
11.00 EUR/day SDAR, SDMR, FDAR, FDMR, FVMR
Police report is a must when insurance event occurs. If it is not presented the renter covers all expenses.
Airport Fee
For all rentals starting at airport locations there is a charge of 15.00 EUR.
Winterization fee
For all rentals between 1st November - 31st March we apply tax from 5.00 EUR per day.All cars are equipped with snow tires and ice scrapers.
Road Tax
A Road Tax of 2.00 EUR per day occurs.
Additional equipment
Navigation system - 5.00 EUR/day
Baby/child seat - 5.00 EUR/day
Snow chains - 5.00 EUR/day
Ski rack - 5.00 EUR/day
Additional Driver
An Additional Driver Surcharge of 3.00 EUR per day applies.
Delivery & Collection
Within city limits is free within 10 km. Outside city limits - between 20 EUR and 80 EUR.
Out of Opening Hours
Renting/returning a vehicle out of Thrifty opening hours is possible. Additional charge of 25.00 EUR applies .
One-Way Rentals
Some locations do offer one way rentals. Allowe both ways to Sofia downtown , Sofia airport , Varna Airport , Burgas Airport, Plovdiv Airport and only drop off location to Veliko Tarnovo and Russe. In case you return the car to non authorized location 50% penalty fee will apply.
Fuel
All vehilces are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled returned the same way, otherwise refuelling chargeof 3.00 EUR/liter will apply.
Lost registration document, car keys or plate number
A charge of 200 EUR will apply VAT
All rates are exclusive of 20% VAT
